Language Arts

  • Build a reading vocabulary of high frequency words
  • Independently read grade appropriate material
  • Improve skills to become and effective reader
  • Have command of letter names and sounds: initial, medial, and final
  • Identify main characters and the beginning, middle, and end of a story
  • Write independently with some fluency; begin to demonstrate sentence sense and reflect logical flow of words and ideas
  • Begin to use conventions in spelling, punctuation, and grammar

Islamic Studies

  • Explore Allah (SWT)
  • Learn about Islam and the Muslim identity
  • Know the five pillars
  • Learn Salat: procedure, behavior, and timings
  • Learn about the life of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and stories of all the Prophets
  • Know Islamic Adhab (Behavior)
  • Memorize simple duas
  • Memorize and write short Islamic themed poems
  • Learn Islamic songs
  • Learn the Islamic months and the significance of the Hijri calendar
  • Quranic studies of selected surahs of the Holy Quran

Arabic
